A Swinton family, a proper tree.
Prescotts isn’t a supermarket car park and it isn’t a theme park. It’s a working yard on Priestley Road, selling the same trees we’d put in our own bay window.
Why we started
For years we drove out of Manchester to find a tree that hadn’t been sitting on tarmac since November. The good ones were a day out; the convenient ones dropped needles before the crackers came out.
So we opened a yard closer to home. Fresh cut daily, kept in water, labelled and netted. WhatsApp John because most people decide after putting the children to bed, not at 11am on a Saturday.
Cut close to the day
Trees aren’t stripped weeks early and left to dry. What you see in the yard is what goes on the stand.
Honest varieties
Nordmann if you want needle-fast and almost no scent. Fraser if you want the classic fir fragrance. We’ll tell you when a tree isn’t the right one.
A city that can collect
The yard is in Swinton, M28 2LY — Wardley Industrial Estate, easy from the M60 and Moorside station.
