A real tree only asks for water.
Needle drop is almost always a dry stand, not a bad variety. Follow this and a Nordmann will still look proud through Christmas.

A fresh cut
Our trees are fresh cut. But if you leave your tree standing without water the cut will seal, and a sealed trunk cannot drink — so we would advise you to saw 2cm from the base before it goes into the stand.

Water, then water again
A 6ft tree can drink a litre a day for the first week. Never let the stand run dry — once the cut seals, needles go.

Keep it cool
Away from radiators, fires and south-facing glass. Cooler rooms keep Nordmanns looking bought yesterday.

Lights that don’t cook it
LED lights. Old incandescent strings dry the inner branches. Check the water every time you switch them on.
